
Manufacturing Production Control Specialist
Company Overview

Job Summary
The Manufacturing Production Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the production schedule to ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves coordinating resources, monitoring production progress, and managing inventory to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. The individual in this position will work closely with production teams, supply chain, engineering, and quality control to ensure that manufacturing processes stay on track and all production goals are achieved.
Responsibilities
Production Planning and Scheduling
- Develops and manages detailed production schedules based on company schedule goals, component availability, and production capacity.
- Reviews and adjusts production schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, material availability, or production issues.
- Develops contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies for unforeseen production disruptions or resource constraints.
Resource Coordination and Collaboration
- Coordinates with production teams for Component MFG and PITA to ensure that all materials, labor, and equipment are available as needed to meet production deadlines.
- Collaborates with supply chain management to ensure that critical or long-lead raw materials are ordered and delivered on time to avoid delays in production.
- Troubleshoots and resolves production delays or bottlenecks by collaborating with engineering, operations, and other relevant departments.
- Communicates production status and potential issues to stakeholders, including management, engineering, and quality control.
- Oversees or coordinates any contract manufacturing or outsourcing needs to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Performance Monitoring and Capacity Planning
- Monitors production progress and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that production goals are met on time.
- Assists in capacity planning and help identify resource constraints that may impact production timelines.
- Tracks and analyzes production costs or budgets to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
Continuous Improvement
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting solutions to optimize production flow.
- Provides regular training or guidance to team members on scheduling tools, production planning methodologies, and best practices.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the production process.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in production planning, production control, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of production workflows, inventory control, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., JobBOSS, Oracle, Infor) and production scheduling software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work cross-functionally with different teams.
- Ability to analyze production data and make data-driven decisions to improve processes.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clear documentation of production schedules and inventory.

Physical Demands
