Job Overview
Kardigan is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Medical Affairs Strategy & Operations to lead the development, execution, and optimization of global medical affairs processes and strategic initiatives. This role will be pivotal in driving operational excellence, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of impactful medical strategies across therapeutic areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and execution of Medical Affairs initiatives aligned with corporate objectives.
- Drive operational excellence through process improvement, change management, and performance tracking.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, Compliance) to ensure seamless integration of medical strategies.
- Lead the annual planning process, including budget development, resource allocation, and goal setting
- Develop and maintain global standards and best practices for Medical Affairs activities including grants, symposia, advisory boards, and scientific exchange in collaboration with key cross-functional partners.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Medical Affairs team members
- Enhance and oversee metrics and KPIs to track performance fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory guidance to inform strategic decisions and maintain compliance.
- Represent Kardigan at external forums and contribute to shaping industry standards by leading and participating in advisory boards, symposia, and scientific conferences to gather insights and disseminate clinical data.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field. Masters of Science or MBA preferred. PMP certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with significant exposure to Medical Affairs. Additional experience in Clinical Operations preferred.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, operational leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with process excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and global medical affairs operations.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

Pay range
$208,000 - $271,000 USD
