Job Overview:

Kate McLeod is seeking a deeply social-native, highly creative Social Media Manager who lives and breathes digital culture. You’re not just on social media—you understand it. You spot trends before they hit the mainstream, thrive in fast-moving feeds, and know how to turn ideas into scroll-stopping content. This role is responsible for developing and executing our social strategy, owning community management, and creating high-performing content that drives connection, conversation, and conversion.

In addition to creating content and managing channels, this person will liaise directly with influencers and creators to develop brand-right partnerships and co-create content that feels fresh, fun, and aligned with our aesthetic. You’ll be the voice of Kate McLeod across our platforms and will play a key role in cultivating and nurturing our growing community.

  • Drive meaningful engagement and community interaction
  • Grow traffic and conversion from organic social media

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Strategy & Channel Ownership
    • Develop and execute a compelling, platform-native social media strategy for Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels
    • Own the content calendar, aligning weekly and monthly plans to brand campaigns, product launches, and cultural moments
    • Track platform trends and innovations to ensure our content stays relevant and differentiated
  2. Community Management
    • Lead all community engagement—respond to DMs and comments, foster conversations, and act as the brand’s voice in real time
    • Build strong relationships with our most loyal followers, brand fans, and customers
    • Monitor sentiment and surface insights from the community to inform content and product direction
  3. Content Creation & Production
    • Capture photo and video content (primarily on iPhone, with occasional use of professional equipment depending on experience)
    • Be comfortable both behind and in front of the camera; act as on-screen talent when needed
    • Edit and produce platform-specific content for Instagram, TikTok, and Stories/Reels
    • Ensure all content aligns with our brand’s visual identity and tone
  4. Influencer & Creator Collaboration
    • Manage relationships with influencers and content creators
    • Partner with creators to co-develop content, ensuring it feels organic and performs across platforms
    • Source and manage user-generated content and ensure proper usage rights
  5. Performance Analysis
    • Track and report on KPIs (engagement, reach, conversions, etc.) to measure performance and refine strategy
    • Use data to inform creative testing and optimize content for better results

Qualifications:

  • Deep familiarity with and passion for social media, especially Instagram and TikTok
  • Beauty industry experience preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of post-college experience, with at least 3 years in content or social media roles
  • On-camera confidence with a strong, relatable screen presence
  • iPhone-native photo and video production skills; bonus if experienced with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or InShot
  • Strong writing skills and an instinct for brand voice and storytelling
  • Experience working with influencers or creators, preferably in a brand or agency setting
  • Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Dash Hudson, Later, Sprout Social)
  • Proactive, collaborative, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Enthusiastic about skincare, beauty, wellness, or lifestyle content

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Pay:

  • $90,000-$115,000 per year based on experience
