Job Description
Reporting to the VP, Strategy, this Senior Director is responsible for leading market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, business intelligence and reporting across the Kensington portfolio. Working out of our head office in Toronto 3-4 days a week, this individual will develop competitor benchmarking, market and business intelligence that enables strategic and tactical decision-making across all key enterprise initiatives. The ideal candidate combines outstanding business acumen and communication skills. They will use internal and external data, analytics applications, and business tools (excel, power point, BI tools, etc.) to enable our business leaders with insights to drive critical decision making. They will collaborate and influence senior leadership (VP+ and President level) and have a passion for using data and insights to uncover new opportunities for our client businesses to act upon.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a competitor benchmarking and market intelligence practice e.g. monitoring industry and economic reports, translating into insights for the business. Competitor benchmarking and ongoing assessment of our market position. Support strategic initiatives through internal and external data analysis/benchmarking and the presentation of conclusions.
- Determine portfolio wide needs for BI reporting i.e. systems requirements, gap analysis and path to efficiencies.
- Collaborate with business leaders in develop metrics and benchmarks (i.e., KPIs) to measure key functions and initiatives by using data and technology.
- Drive automation opportunities for data collection and reporting.
- Develop and manage analytics dashboards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Business Degree in Operations, Economics, or Strategy.
- Highly advanced level Excel, PowerPoint, and BI skills.
- 4-6+ total years of progressive work experience in strategy, related business analysis with a history of demonstrated business success.
- Strong preference for candidates with consulting experience from leading organizations.
- Experience includes evaluating companies and conducting data analysis, ideally at a reputable management consultancy or in a strategic and highly analytical role.
- Ability to create and present to all levels of the organization including to the Executive Leadership team.
- Experience in leading projects leveraging analytics and insights from various sources.
- Experience in seeing through projects all the way through execution.
- Strong background in utilizing various data modeling tools.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Naturally curious with a strong determination to work around obstacles.
- Able to effectively manage ambiguity and change while working on cross functional projects and initiatives.
- Entrepreneurial attitude and ownership mentality (no task is too small) with strong judgment, attention to detail and an analytical mind.
- Effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Low ego and highly collaborative leadership style.
