ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Head of Patternmaking to join the KHAITE team. This role will report to the Senior Director, Product Development & Production, RTW and will be based out of the NYC HQ offices. This role will support the design and product development teams in achieving precision in fit and construction, will enhance the sample-making process through expert pattern development, and will ensure the seamless translation of creative designs into high-quality, production-ready garments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the patternmaking team, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Partner closely with the design team to translate sketches into technical patterns while maintaining the brand’s signature aesthetic.
  • Oversee the draping, cutting, and construction of prototypes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in execution.
  • Work closely with sample makers and product development teams to refine garments through multiple fittings.
  • Ensure production patterns are optimized for manufacturing while preserving the integrity of the original design.
  • Develop precise patterns for runway and commercial collections, ensuring impeccable fit and construction.
  • Stay up to date with industry advancements in materials, construction techniques, and patternmaking software.
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship throughout the development process.

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Ability to foster collaboration and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
  • Detail oriented, with ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in luxury patternmaking, with an emphasis on tailoring and flou.
  • Proven ability to work with complex silhouettes, intricate details, and precise construction.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabric behavior.
  • Passion for craftsmanship & precision in luxury fashion.

WE OFFER

The salary range is $180,000-200,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon the candidates' relevant skills and experience. New York Pay Range

$180,000 - $200,000 USD
