JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for participating in a team and providing high quality solutions to our clients. The Consultant will assist with performing consulting projects focused on clinical revenue management and charge capture specifically within interventional radiology and invasive cardiology. You will work closely with our client and internal consulting teams and utilize both technical and interpersonal skills in your daily work.
Responsibilities:
- Focus will be within Invasive Cardiology (e.g., Cath and Electrophysiology Labs) and Interventional Radiology.
- Account reviews comparing clinical documentation to billing outcomes will be a critical element of your day-to-day activities.
- Applying clinical knowledge experiences to help improve and streamline charge capture processes elevating our clients to best-practice standards will be critical.
Required Qualifications:
- Clinical experience working within either the Invasive Cardiology or Interventional Radiology services lines would be beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field is preferred but coding certification in lieu of bachelor’s degree is required (MBA, MHA and/or MPH is a plus).
- Technical knowledge in this area of expertise as well as the appropriate licensure or certification (e.g. clinical credentials such as BSN, certifications such as CCS, CPC, RHIA or project management certification).Must currently hold a CIRCC credential or plan on acquiring it within 1 year of employment.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant, in-depth health care experience required (clinical or revenue cycle). Preferred experience with working in a professional services/consulting capacity in the past.
- Knowledge of the revenue cycle with an emphasis on hospital processes is a plus.
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech).
- Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and levels of staff.
- Strong financial, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills including data manipulation within Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team-oriented environment.
- Role is mainly remote based.
- This position may involve at most 25% travel.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of specialty supplies (e.g., catheters) and implants (e.g., stents) would be a bonus.
