Engineering Team Lead

Konovo is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to help us build and scale our Bengaluru engineering hub. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with people leadership: you’ll guide a cross-functional team of engineers, mentor their growth, and contribute directly to building the products that power Konovo’s healthcare intelligence platform.
As Team Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the culture and delivery practices of our India team, ensuring alignment with Konovo’s global standards while driving high-quality outcomes locally. This is a player-coach role—ideal for an experienced engineer ready to step into broader leadership while staying close to the technology.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Lead and mentor a hybrid team of software, data, and quality engineers in Bengaluru.
- Contribute directly to architecture, design, and coding while guiding technical decisions.
- Partner with Product and Design to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that meet business needs.
- Apply Agile practices (Scrum) to ensure alignment, focus, and continuous improvement.
- Build a culture of collaboration, integrity, and accountability, where every engineer can learn and grow.
- Support hiring and onboarding as we scale the India team.
- Ensure delivery excellence by applying best practices in SDLC, CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.
- Act as a bridge between local engineering efforts and Konovo’s global engineering standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in a team leadership or people management role within engineering.
- Strong technical background in software development and system design.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based SaaS environments, ideally AWS.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
- Comfortable balancing delivery ownership with mentoring and team development.
- Strong communication skills, with business fluency in English.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment with shifting priorities.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Tech Stack:
- Back end: Scala, Java, Node.js
- Front end: React, JavaScript
- Databases: SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB/DocumentDB)
- Cloud: AWS services and tools
- AI/ML: Familiarity with applied ML/AI concepts
