Chief Revenue Officer

Austin, TX

KUNGFU.AI is a leading AI-native consulting firm. We partner with ambitious organizations through multi-year cycles of transformation to help them compete and lead in the age of AI. Our work spans AI strategy, applied machine learning and engineering, and the operationalization of AI into real products, processes, and decision systems.

We are not a slideware consultancy. We design and build production-grade AI systems that drive measurable business outcomes. Our teams combine deep technical expertise with pragmatic consulting discipline to move clients from experimentation to impact.

We are seeking an Austin, TX-based  bold, commercially sophisticated Chief Revenue Officer to architect and scale the next phase of growth for our company as we expand from a $20M business to a $100M+ revenue run rate over the next several years.

This is not a traditional enterprise sales leadership role. We are looking for a strategic growth leader who understands how to build a modern commercial engine inside a high-growth, founder-led AI consulting and engineering firm operating at the forefront of a rapidly evolving market.

As a nine-year old boutique AI engineering and consulting company with real differentiation in the marketplace, our growth is driven by deep expertise, trusted relationships, and our ability to help organizations navigate meaningful transformation in an environment where the future of AI is still being shaped in real time. The CRO will play a central role in defining how we scale that growth: building the systems, commercial models, partnerships, and go-to-market strategies that allow the business to grow aggressively while preserving the quality, credibility, and differentiation that make us successful today.

This role will partner closely with the CMO and executive leadership team to evolve the company from a founder- and relationship-led sales motion into a coordinated, repeatable, and highly strategic commercial organization capable of supporting long-term revenue growth across both commercial and public sector markets.

While this is a highly strategic executive role, it also requires a hands-on operator mindset. As a high-growth company operating in one of the fastest-moving markets in technology, we are looking for a leader who is equally comfortable shaping long-term commercial strategy and rolling up their sleeves to mature the infrastructure, operating cadence, partnerships, and revenue systems that will drive the next stage of growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to help define what a modern AI-native consulting growth engine looks like while building a company positioned to shape the future of the industry.

What you will do:

Build and Scale the Commercial Growth Engine

  • Design and lead the company’s overall revenue strategy as the organization scales from an emerging growth-stage business into a significantly larger and more sophisticated market player.
  • Build a repeatable and scalable commercial operating model that creates predictable growth while maintaining the entrepreneurial and relationship-driven culture that has fueled the company’s success to date.
  • Mature the systems, forecasting discipline, operating rhythms, and commercial accountability required to support long-term scale and increased revenue predictability.
  • Lead the evolution of the company’s commercial infrastructure, including pipeline management, forecasting rigor, revenue analytics, sales processes, and performance measurement.
  • Develop a highly disciplined revenue organization capable of navigating long enterprise sales cycles, complex AI transformation engagements, and rapidly evolving client priorities.

Lead Strategic Growth Across Commercial and Public Sector Markets

  • Develop and execute differentiated go-to-market strategies across both commercial enterprise and public sector clients.
  • Help the organization identify where the AI services market is heading and help to continuously evolve the company’s commercial positioning to stay ahead of market shifts and emerging opportunities.
  • Drive expansion into larger and more strategic enterprise relationships while also broadening and diversifying the company’s revenue base.
  • Lead the development of a formal strategic account program designed to deepen client relationships, expand existing accounts, and increase long-term account value and retention.
Partner closely with leadership, delivery, and operations teams to ensure growth strategies are aligned with delivery capacity, talent availability, and client success outcomes.

Build a Modern AI-Native Commercial Organization

  • Help define and implement how AI should be leveraged across the company’s own commercial operations, sales workflows, forecasting, marketing collaboration, and client engagement strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, pricing sophistication, and commercial effectiveness through AI-enabled systems and workflows.
  • Lead the evolution of the company’s commercial models, including value-based pricing, outcome-oriented engagements, managed services, and productized offerings.
  • Partner with leadership to codify and commercialize repeatable AI offerings, accelerators, and strategic solutions that improve market differentiation and drive more predictable growth.
  • Balance commercial ambition with operational discipline to ensure sustainable, high-quality growth.

Build Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystem Growth

  • Develop and deepen strategic partnerships across the AI and technology ecosystem, including hyperscalers, data platforms, frontier labs, and emerging AI companies.
  • Create co-invested go-to-market relationships and partnership strategies that generate measurable pipeline and long-term strategic advantage.
  • Partner with executive leadership on inorganic growth opportunities, including strategic acquisitions, acqui-hires, team lift-outs, and commercial integration efforts.
  • Help position the company as a highly credible and differentiated strategic partner within the broader AI ecosystem.

Build and Inspire a High-Performing Revenue Organization

  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing business development and account leadership organization.
  • Establish clear distinction and alignment between new business development and strategic account growth functions, including differentiated operating models, incentives, and performance expectations.
  • Continue to drive the team’s culture of accountability, curiosity, collaboration, strategic thinking, and commercial excellence.
  • Thrive in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment where executive leaders are expected to operate as both strategic architects and hands-on builders.

What you will bring:

Revenue Leadership and Scaling Experience

  • Proven experience scaling a professional services, consulting, technology, or AI-related business through significant growth stages.
  • Track record building repeatable commercial systems and scalable revenue organizations — not simply leading through personal relationships or individual deal-making.
  • Experience leading organizations through periods of rapid growth, market evolution, and organizational complexity.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise sales motions involving large, strategic, and consultative engagements with long sales cycles.

Commercial Systems and Forecasting Discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to build operational rigor within revenue organizations, including forecasting, pipeline management, commercial analytics, and revenue accountability.
  • Experience developing scalable sales processes, commercial operating cadences, KPIs, and organizational performance frameworks.

  • Experience improving forecast accuracy, pipeline health, and revenue predictability within high-growth organizations.

Strategic Account and Commercial Growth Expertise

  • Deep experience building strategic account programs that drive meaningful account expansion, long-term client relationships, and durable recurring revenue.
  • Experience developing differentiated go-to-market strategies and evolving commercial models in dynamic and fast-changing markets.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategy, value-based selling, and commercial structures within consulting or professional services environments.
  • Experience balancing large transformational opportunities with portfolio diversification and long-term revenue durability.

AI, Technology, and Market Fluency

  • Strong understanding of AI, data, digital transformation, or emerging technology consulting markets.
  • Deep curiosity about how AI is reshaping enterprise operations, commercial organizations, customer expectations, and consulting delivery models and hands-on experience experimenting with and putting into production AI-enabled processes and capabilities.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into commercially effective growth strategies.
  • Highly curious and excited about the evolving AI-native sales and marketing technology landscape.

Executive Leadership, Operator Mindset & Professional Services Expertise

  • Deep understanding of consulting and professional services economics, including utilization, delivery capacity, margin management, and relationship-driven growth models.
  • Experience operating successfully within founder-led, entrepreneurial, and high-growth organizations where executive leaders are expected to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to build credibility and trust with founders, partners, executive leadership, clients, and board stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in environments with ambiguity, rapid change, evolving market conditions, and shifting commercial dynamics.
  • Ability to simultaneously maintain long-term strategic focus while adapting quickly as markets, technologies, and customer expectations evolve.

Team Building and Organizational Leadership

  • Proven experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing commercial organizations and leadership teams.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a demonstrated commitment to developing talent, building accountability, and fostering a high-performance culture.Ability to drive alignment and collaboration across fast-moving, cross-functional organizations.
  • A builder mindset with the stamina, adaptability, and leadership presence required to help scale a company through its next major stage of growth.

Our Culture and Values:

We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
