The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Sr Financial Analyst:

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), Commercial will play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations, with a focus on planning, forecasting, monthly close, and stakeholder reporting.  Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the SFA will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial models and conducting scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.  This role will regularly analyze budget-to-actual performance across the annual operating plan, forecasts, and long-term budgets, identifying key variances and trends.  In addition, the SFA will serve as the primary Finance point of contact for external Licensing partners, supporting financial alignment and partnership success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Manager, FP&A, and the Senior Director, Finance, with annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process in addition to annual long-term strategic plan in support of commercial operations. 
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, FP&A, and Commercial team leads to understand sponsorship agreements, utilization of activation funds, and licensing agreements and provide monthly reporting of actuals to budgeted revenue and costs. 
  • Close the commercial business books on a monthly basis, including posting accruals and preparing detailed account reconciliations for assigned accounts. 
  • Support the licensee royalty reporting process, including analyzing royalty reporting against licensing agreement terms, recording earned royalties, and creating invoices 
  • Support Marketing forecasting, comparisons of actuals to plan, and project modeling as needed. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement on a continual basis. 

 

Background & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting and process management with excellent references. 
  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional FP&A experience. 
  • Hands-on experience with creating and building complex financial models. 
  • Strong analytical skills including financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting. 
  • Experience with large scale ERP systems preferred, Workday reporting experience a plus. 
  • Familiarity with basic accounting concepts and journal entry preparation. 
  • Must possess expert-level Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office application skills. Dashboarding within Excel or other visualization tools (Tableau, Microsoft Power BI etc.) a plus. 
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized. 
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work on-site in an office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA. 
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment. 

 

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field. 
  • MBA a plus. 

 

Expectations:

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical people. 
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and handle and manage multiple workloads, priorities, and deadlines with efficiency.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and strong relationship building abilities.  
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.

The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000.00 - $95,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
