The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Senior Associate, Guidelines & Governance
The Brand, Identity and Look of the Games (BIL) team is responsible for overseeing the development and management of all LA28' visual identity. The LA28 brand is the first-ever variable Olympic and Paralympic logo and has an ever-expanding inventory of design assets. Along with developing and managing the core identity, the BIL team is responsible for marquee Games design deliverables such as core graphic, pictograms, and torch in addition to internal creative services.
The BIL team is looking for a Senior Associate, Guidelines & Governance. This role will assist in creating, maintaining, and distributing the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games brand guidelines, brand governance materials, stakeholder toolkits, guides and official documents ensuring consistency across all internal and external brand applications.
The ideal candidate is a detailed-oriented designer with a passion for layout and editorial design; has a deep understanding of editorial principles, typography, graphic design and how to clearly and concisely bring design principles to a non-design audience. They should bring professional, solution-oriented design skills, along with strong organization, time management and communication abilities.
The Senior Associate, Guidelines & Governance will report to and work closely with the Manager, Brand Design – Guidelines & Governance and collaborate with the larger BIL team, key partners throughout the Marketing team, and across the organization.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help shape the look, feel and experience of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain LA28 Brand Guidelines
- Develop and maintain milestone-specific guidelines (e.g., torch relay, mascot, medals, venue branding)
- Develop and maintain official guides and documents (e.g., Games guides)
- Assist in creating and maintaining brand toolkits and training materials, ensuring easy adoption of the LA28 brand system \Assist in managing updates and distribution of brand assets and templates, ensuring accessibility for all stakeholders
- Advice on editorial best practices
Background & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, design or a related field (preferred)
- 2–4 years of experience in professional layout and/or editorial design
- Passion for layout, typography, and packaging design
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma
- Strong understanding of brand identity systems, toolkits, and guidelines
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams
- Passion for sports branding and the Olympic & Paralympic movement
- A portfolio submission is required
Position Requirements:
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Candidates should expect a 4-5-day workweek, primarily based in the LA28 Los Angeles office
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are required
- May involve standing and walking at events, activations, or production shoots
- Ability to lift and carry light materials (such as marketing collateral) as needed for events
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary, particularly leading up to key campaigns and milestone events

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
