Catlett Animal Hospital warmly invites a talented Licensed Veterinary Technician or Business Associate to join as a shift lead/office manager, working alongside our dedicated medical director and senior hospital administrator. Compassion Animal Hospital is our sister hospital, and you will have the support and community of both locations. Although our two lively practices are just 9 miles apart, each is home to a shared, wonderful team of passionate, friendly staff members who make work truly enjoyable.   

This role supports the Catlett team day and the Senior Hospital Administrator (HA)/Medical Director day-to-day in driving the veterinary hospital's performance by creating and maintaining a practice environment that facilitates the delivery of quality, compassionate, and efficient health care to pets. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO(Essential Functions):

Help our front desk and clinical team with any day-to-day challenges they may have. 

Support the creation and maintenance of a collaborative, high-performing, positive, and engaged workplace culture 

Organize the health services of a hospital or healthcare organization. Serve as the assistant point person for all day-to-day functions of the practice 

Assist with all strategic business development and operational planning efforts 

Help oversee all departments that support the business side of the hospital, with a focus on business financials, growth, and human resources 

Ensure company procedures are communicated and adhered to 

Work with the Senior Hospital Administrator to create marketing programs to support the business model and strategic goals. Ensure marketing procedures are implemented, followed, and tracked accurately 

Perform other duties and projects as requested by the Medical Director and Senior Administrator.  

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Essential Qualifications) 

Education: 

AA or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience 

A licensed veterinary technician is highly recommended.  

2+ years of experience in overall operations, financial and facilities management, and/or Human Resources 

This includes one year of job-specific experience in a hospital management role within the veterinary or human health industry 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Knowledge of state, federal, and local employment and safety laws and regulations 

Proficiency with ADP Workforce One, Microsoft Office Suite 

Knowledge of veterinary hospital practices and procedures 

Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills with a client-oriented approach 

Leverages interpersonal skills and technical knowledge to bring people and ideas together to perform effectively 

Strong time management skills, including prioritizing work and meeting deadlines 

Strong critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills 

Adapt and remain flexible in changing situations and work environments 

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality 

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage time well 

Handle and maintain sensitive and confidential information with discretion 

 

WORKING  CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL  DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team members must frequently use a computer for extended periods. Specific visual abilities are required for this job, including close vision. This position requires walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. You might need to lift a bag of dog food weighing up to 25 pounds. May require flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends. This is not considered a remote position.
