CAD Support Specialist

We are looking for a highly skilled and service-oriented CAD Support Specialist to provide technical support, training, and system management for our civil engineering and landscape architecture teams. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for CAD-related troubleshooting and optimization, ensuring that our design staff has the tools and support needed to deliver high-quality, efficient work. 

This role is crucial to maintaining the consistency, accuracy, and productivity of our drafting and design systems across a range of infrastructure, land development, and landscape architecture projects. 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support for CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Land F/X), including troubleshooting, updates, and configuration. 
  • Assist project teams with resolving CAD-related issues quickly to avoid project delays. 
  • Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, blocks, and detail libraries to ensure consistency across all projects. 
  • Coordinate with IT to manage software installations, licensing, and upgrades. 
  • Support onboarding and training of new staff in CAD workflows and best practices. 
  • Assist in integrating CAD workflows with GIS, BIM, and other project systems when needed. 
  • Conduct audits of project files to ensure compliance with office and client drafting standards. 
  • Document support inquiries, procedures, and solutions for knowledge sharing and process improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience supporting CAD software in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environment. 
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.  
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-service orientation. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage in a diverse, multi-disciplined professional setting. 
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple support requests. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Land F/X, Revit, or Bluebeam. 
  • Familiarity with BIM/Cloud workflows and project deliverables. 
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams, including both civil engineers and landscape architects. 
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., LISP, Dynamo, Python for CAD). 
  • Experience with CAD-GIS integration workflows (ArcGIS). 
  • Prior involvement in CAD standards development and training delivery.
