In this role, you’ll own the success of key accounts, shaping channel and content strategies, guiding social and community management, and ensuring our work delivers measurable business impact.

You will serve as a senior client partner and internal team leader, overseeing Social Media Managers and Community Managers while providing strategic direction across content, community, reporting, and optimization. This is a high-impact role that combines deep social expertise, client leadership, operational excellence, and people management.

What You’ll Do

Strategy

  • Lead the development of social media strategies grounded in client objectives, audience insights, platform behaviors, and cultural trends.
  • Translate broader business and marketing goals into clear channel, content, and community strategies.
  • Build and nurture senior client relationships, positioning Later as a trusted strategic advisor and extension of the client’s team.
  • Lead strategic business reviews, content planning sessions, and performance presentations that turn insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Guide clients through evolving platform trends and identify opportunities to strengthen their social presence.
  • Identify expansion and upsell opportunities, partnering with Sales and Strategy to grow client relationships.
  • Contribute social expertise to RFPs, proposals, and new business pitches.

Social Media Management and Execution

  • Oversee the execution of social media programs across content planning, publishing, community management, reporting, and optimization.
  • Guide Social Media Managers in developing editorial calendars, content briefs, channel plans, and proactive recommendations.
  • Ensure content and community strategies are cohesive, platform-native, culturally relevant, and aligned with each brand’s voice.
  • Oversee Community Managers and ensure engagement strategies strengthen audience relationships and protect brand reputation.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of day-to-day account activity while empowering team members to lead execution.
  • Own account scopes, budgets, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring work stays aligned with client commitments.
  • Anticipate risks, manage escalations, and develop proactive solutions that protect client relationships and team performance.
  • Monitor social performance, identify emerging insights, and recommend optimizations that improve results.

Team and Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor Social Media Managers and Community Managers, building a high-performing, client-focused team.
  • Set clear expectations, provide actionable feedback, and support the professional growth of direct reports.
  • Ensure teams have the context, resources, and strategic guidance needed to deliver excellent work.
  • Partner with Creative, Production, Influencer Marketing, Paid Media, Strategy, Analytics, and Sales to deliver integrated programs.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between clients and internal teams, creating clarity around priorities, feedback, and next steps.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Research and Best Practices

  • Stay ahead of platform updates, social behaviors, cultural shifts, and emerging content formats.
  • Bring proactive, culturally relevant ideas to clients and internal teams.
  • Establish and improve processes that support consistent quality, operational efficiency, and scalable account delivery.
  • Contribute thought leadership that strengthens Later’s position as a leader in social media strategy and execution.
  • Share learnings and best practices across the Social Media Management organization.

What Success Looks Like

  • Key client accounts meet renewal and expansion goals and demonstrate measurable progress against their social objectives.
  • Later is seen as a trusted strategic partner, not simply an executional resource.
  • Social strategies are proactive, insight-led, culturally relevant, and connected to broader business goals.
  • Content and community programs are consistently delivered on time, on budget, and above quality standards.
  • Social Media Managers and Community Managers grow in confidence, strategic thinking, and performance.
  • Client risks are identified early and managed proactively.
  • Later’s Social Media Management team is recognized for strategic excellence, innovation, and best-in-class execution.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or account management, including direct client-facing experience.

  • Strong understanding of organic social media, content strategy, community management, platform best practices, and social measurement.
  • Experience managing and mentoring Social Media Managers, Community Managers, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead senior client relationships and navigate complex feedback, competing priorities, and escalations.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate performance into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong operational skills, including managing scopes, budgets, timelines, and cross-functional workflows.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A track record of strengthening client partnerships and identifying opportunities for account growth.
