Job Summary:
We are seeking a Software Performance Engineer with expertise in performance testing, optimization, and capacity planning. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests while ensuring system scalability and reliability. This role requires proficiency in scripting, modern performance testing frameworks, and monitoring tools, as well as a strong understanding of cloud environments and containerized platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and optimize infrastructure platforms (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes) for scalability and reliability.
- Implement CPU and memory limits for efficient resource utilization.
- Analyze logs from garbage collection and thread dumps, identifying memory leaks using tools like Visual VM and GC Easy.
- Tune databases by optimizing indexes and connection pools and reviewing database statements.
- Design and execute performance, scalability, and load tests for complex systems.
- Develop and maintain test scripts using JMeter and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Groovy, or Java).
- Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements.
- Prepare custom dashboards and reports on environment health and availability.
- Gather and monitor performance metrics using tools like Grafana, Kibana, and Elasticsearch.
- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and container-native workflows.
- Maintain test environments leveraging Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ensure systems meet performance and reliability requirements under expected load conditions.
- Create comprehensive performance testing documentation, including test plans, scripts, and reports.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in performance testing and optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Groovy, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Dynatrace, Visual VM, New Relic, AppDynamics).
- Expertise in monitoring tools like Grafana, Kibana, CloudWatch, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong analytical skills to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
- Familiarity with Git/GitOps for code and release management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (english).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments.
- Knowledge of distributed tracing tools and performance profiling.
- Familiarity with Kafka for event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of database management and optimization for MySQL, SQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience managing performance test environments in Kubernetes.
