Job Summary:
Lendz Financial is seeking a dedicated Mortgage Lending Quality Control Specialist to join our growing team. This role will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of our loan origination process by reviewing and ensuring that all loan files are in full compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of mortgage lending practices, and a commitment to quality and efficiency. As part of the Quality Control team, you will help drive excellence across all stages of the lending process while ensuring a seamless experience for our broker partners. This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be located in either the Central or Eastern time zone.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough audits of loan files to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency to ensure all required forms, disclosures, and signatures are in place.
- Identify, investigate, and report any discrepancies or issues found during the audit process and work collaboratively with the processing and underwriting teams to resolve them.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of audit findings and produce comprehensive reports to management.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements to help mitigate risk and enhance the overall quality of loan production.
- Monitor loan files for adherence to investor guidelines and internal quality control standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that necessary corrective actions are implemented on any loans that do not meet the required standards.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and changes that may affect mortgage lending, quality control processes, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with regulatory audits, reviews, and internal assessments as needed.
- Work with Third Party Due Diligence Companies to complete through reviews of loan files.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and potential compliance issues.
- Proven experience in mortgage lending or a related field, with a solid understanding of loan origination, processing, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey findings clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving and decision-making.
- High degree of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage compliance regulations (e.g., TRID, RESPA, ECOA, and other federal and state laws).
- Experience with loan quality control audits and reporting processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and mortgage loan origination systems.
- High School Diploma or GED required; a college degree or mortgage-related certifications (e.g., NMLS, CMB) is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control, processing, or underwriting role within the mortgage industry.

Compensation:
The approximate compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 in annual salary. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package, will be determined based on factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
