Job Summary: 

At LG Energy Solution Inc., the Sr. Engineer, MES Process Innovation leads the design, optimization, and integration of Production IT systems, including the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), data analytics platforms, and reporting systems. This role drives system improvements that support manufacturing excellence, digital transformation, and business process changes. Working closely with global and cross-functional teams, the Senior Engineer provides technical guidance to ensure scalable, reliable, and effective system solutions across manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, optimization, and long-term strategy of MES, Production IT systems, data analytics platforms, and Smart Factory solutions to support manufacturing scalability and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Analyze complex manufacturing operations and drive enterprise-level system enhancements that improve automation, operational efficiency, data visibility, and production performance.
  • Architect and oversee integration and governance of MES, WMS, ERP, and reporting systems to ensure data consistency, system reliability, and scalable manufacturing operations.
  • Lead resolution of critical system and operational issues through advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for Production IT infrastructure and Smart Factory capabilities, identifying opportunities to optimize system architecture and business processes.
  • Partner closely with headquarters, global engineering teams, production, quality, and IT stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver strategic manufacturing system solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for MES configuration, system standardization, and enterprise-level IT projects, ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external technology vendors to implement and maintain scalable IT solutions, software platforms, and system enhancements supporting manufacturing operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Manufacturing IT Systems, MES/ERP integration, Smart Factory initiatives, or related technical environments.
  • Advanced experience implementing, optimizing, or enhancing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in data analytics, MES, and SAP ERP implementation or enhancement projects.
  • Experience leading data analysis initiatives and production system improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, production systems, system architecture, and digital transformation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of IT best practices, including programming concepts and cybersecurity principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required to support production operations and collaborate with global teams and headquarters stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with data analysis and reporting tools to support operational decision-making.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Programming and data visualization experience with tools such as Python, SQL, and Power BI preferred.
  • Knowledge of AI or advanced analytics solutions preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
