Forward Deployed Software Engineer

London

About us

Liberis is on a mission to supercharge the power of small businesses all over the world - delivering the financial products they need to grow through a network of global partners.

Before all else, Liberis is a technology company, connecting finance with small businesses.

We use data to help partners understand their customers’ real time needs and tech to offer tailor-made funding and financial products. Empowering small businesses to grow and keep their independent spirit alive is central to our vision.

Up to now we have funded almost 50,000 small businesses with over $3bn - but we believe there is much more to be done.

The role

The purpose of this role is to create dedicated capacity and expertise around serving the technical teams of our partners. Historically, we have seen that partner technical collaboration mostly happened during the onboarding stage. As we have onboarded more engaged, more technology driven partnerships – this has now changed, and we are seeing significant demand for ongoing improvements and integrations from existing partners.

As with many other organisations creating this role, it is experimental, and we expect it to change as we learn what is working. See this blog post for more detailed information.

What you’ll be doing

This role will be heavily partner facing. Based on the current demand, it may involve any of the following:

  • Providing training to partners technical teams about our platform and how to integrate against it.
  • Being the technical point of contact for partners when they are integrating against our platform.
  •  Embedding directly into partner organisations to help them build integrations against our platform.
  • Being available for pre-sales conversations when the Solutions Engineering team requires deeper knowledge.
  • Building and improving our technical partner facing collateral, such as API documents.
  • Designing and running integration tests with partners technical teams.

What we think you’ll need:

  • An end-to-end understanding of our current platform; especially the Capital Platform.
  • A detailed understanding of our public API.
  • To be enthusiastic about working directly with partners and their technical teams.
  • An exceptionally professional written and spoken communication style, in a setting where there will be external pressure to make concessions.
