Position: Clinical Documentation Specialist
Job Summary: Clinical Documentation Specialist ensures the highest standards of clinical documentation and quality assurance within our organization. This role involves auditing medical records, overseeing clinical supervision files, and collaborating with leadership to enhance documentation practices. This position reports to the Vice President of Clinical Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a secondary signer for clinical documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough audits of medical records to identify discrepancies, ensure adherence to documentation standards, and promote best practices.
- Oversee the quality assurance of clinical supervision files, verifying that all documentation meets organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Document and effectively communicate audit findings to relevant stakeholders, providing actionable insights for improvement.
- Develop and implement SOPs and training programs related to proper documentation procedures, fostering a culture of compliance and excellence.
- Create and refine auditing forms and procedures to streamline the auditing process and enhance accuracy.
- Provide guidance and direction to leadership regarding audit findings, recommending necessary actions and outcomes to address identified issues.
Required Experience/Abilities:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Active LISW or LPCC license
- At least 4 years progressively relevant experience.
- Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen.
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
