Position: Peer Center Activity Coordinator Report to: Peer Center Manager
Position Type: Temporary (Grant-Funded, Non-Benefit Eligible)
Job Summary: The Peer Center Activity Coordinator is a temporary, grant-funded position responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing sober, recovery-focused activities at the Peer Center. This role promotes clients’ physical, social, and mental well-being by facilitating access to supportive services and structured activities. Working collaboratively with the Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions clinical team and Peer Supporters, the coordinator develops programming aligned with client needs and organizational goals.
This position is contingent on grant funding and will end when funding is exhausted.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design, coordinate, and implement supportive service programs and sober activities in collaboration with clients, staff, management, and community organizations.
- Organize, schedule, and facilitate regular Peer Center activities and community-based events.
- Conduct outreach to engage clients, identify service needs, recruit volunteers, and identify programming gaps.
- Serve as a liaison with local community partners, representing Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions in meetings and collaborative initiatives.
- Coordinate service delivery and referral processes to ensure clients receive seamless support.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive program records, documentation, and reports.
- Respond to crisis intervention needs, involving the Site Director or clinical leadership as appropriate.
- Support client-led initiatives and ensure programming aligns with clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Explore funding opportunities to support new or expanded Peer Center programming.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to promote engagement in Peer Center activities.
- Develop and distribute the monthly programming/activity calendar to clients and staff.
- Attend required meetings and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Participate in ongoing training, networking, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide support at client activities and events, including setup, cleanup, and general coordination.
- Maintain a flexible schedule; ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training, networking programs, webinars, and workshops to enhance service delivery to the community.
- Participate in tenant events and ensure successful event execution, including coordinating cleanup efforts and providing assistance as needed.
- Adaptable work schedule, with the ability to work some weeknights and weekends to accommodate event schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in human services, ideally working with individuals with substance use disorders and/or mental health symptoms.
- Valid driver’s license, adequate insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Temporary (Grant-Funded)
- Benefits: This role does not include health insurance, PTO, paid holidays, 401(k), or other employee benefits.
- Duration: Employment will end when grant funding is no longer available.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 12pm - 8pm, rotating weekends
Compensation Range: $18 - $20/hr
