We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Engineering Manager to build and lead a nearshore cross-functional team of Software Engineers, SDETs, AI/ML Engineer and Scrum Master. In this role, you'll act as a critical connector between our nearshore development group and US-based product and engineering teams. You’ll drive execution, support team growth, and ensure alignment with company objectives while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a nearshore cross-functional team of Software Engineers, SDETs, AI/ML engineer and Scrum Masters, ensuring a culture of high performance, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a local leader for the nearshore group, supporting recruitment, onboarding, team building, and career development.
  • Collaborate closely with US-based squads and stakeholders, aligning technical work with product roadmaps, business goals, and company priorities.
  • Drive execution: Set clear goals, ensuring teams stay focused, unblock issues and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Support Scrum Masters and agile practices, helping the team stay efficient, focused, and outcome oriented.
  • Promote quality and reliability, enabling strong test automation, CI/CD, and observability practices across the team.
  • Mentor and grow team members across engineering and delivery roles, providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous learning, empowering the team to explore new ideas and technologies.
  • Facilitate clear and proactive communication between nearshore and US teams, helping bridge time zones, cultures, and expectations.
  • Represent the team in engineering and product leadership forums, providing visibility into progress, risks, and needs.

What You'll Have

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Enginering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5+ years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, QA/SDETs, scrum masters) in a distributed or nearshore setting.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proven ability to align engineering efforts with business goals and partner effectively with product and US-based teams.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing engineering talent across roles and career stages.
  • Solid knowledge of modern development practices, testing strategies, CI/CD, and cloud-based systems (tech stack flexible).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in software engineering using technologies such as Java, React, JavaScript, etc.
  • Dealership and/or SaaS industry.
  • Previous experience managing scrum.
  • Proven understanding of QA practices.
