ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Safety and Facilities Manager to lead our industrial manufacturing site into its next phase of operational excellence. Our goal is to move beyond baseline OSHA compliance and transform our safety program into a robust, proactive culture.
In this role, you aren’t just a "safety cop"—you are a builder who will own the safety and structural integrity of our home base. You will oversee the physical health of our plant, manage a dedicated Facilities Technician, and coordinate specialized external contractors to ensure our infrastructure supports high-efficiency production.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety and Environmental Leadership
- Program Development: Build, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) that exceeds OSHA standards.
- Culture Building: Lead the "Safety First" initiative, shifting the mindset from reactive compliance to proactive risk engagement across all shifts.
- Training and Enablement: Design and deliver safety training modules (LOTO, Fall Protection, Forklift, HazCom, etc.) and empower floor leads to act as safety champions.
- Incident Management: Lead all accident investigations using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure corrective actions prevent recurrence.
- Compliance and Auditing: Conduct regular site audits and manage all EHS documentation, including OSHA 300 logs and environmental reporting.
- Environmental Oversight: Manage air and noise pollution control programs to meet all local and federal environmental permits.
Facilities and Maintenance Management
- Personnel Management: Directly supervise and mentor the Facilities Technician, prioritizing their daily workload and professional development.
- Maintenance Strategy: Oversee the Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule for the building’s envelope, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Contractor Liaison: Source, vet, and manage third-party vendors for specialized maintenance, safety supplies (PPE/First Aid), and waste management.
- Capital Projects: Assist in the planning and execution of facility upgrades, equipment installations, and space optimizations.
- Budgeting: Manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement without compromising safety or quality.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Experience: You have 5+ years in a Safety or Facilities role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications: You possess an OSHA 30-Hour certification (required); CSP or ASP certifications are highly preferred.
- Technical Expertise: You have deep knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards and air/noise regulations.
- Leadership: You have a proven track record of managing direct reports and third-party contractors.
- The ‘Safety Mindset’: You excel at finding solutions that respect production deadlines while keeping people safe.
- Project Management: You can effectively juggle facility repairs, safety audits, and contractor negotiations simultaneously.
- Communication: You are comfortable speaking to everyone from the executive board to the shop floor team to drive buy-in.
BENEFITS
