
Sr. Technician, LV Harness
We are seeking a senior technician to support the LV harness engineering team. The harnesses you will be working with will be critical for the development of the electrical system of the vehicle. You can expect to build harnesses and test fixtures from raw materials following documentation provided by engineers. The result will be delivery of finished goods, including quality inspection. You will set up the fixtures and assembly boards to build the harnesses and create processes with the goal of rapid and high-quality harness production. You will also debug and troubleshoot electrical issues and report findings.
The Role:
- Work with engineers and technicians to build, repair, and rework automotive wire harnesses and test equipment
- Adapt high volume wire harness production processes to a low volume lab setting
- Troubleshoot and resolve harness issues on vehicles and test bucks
- Execute test procedures and create documentation
- Organize and maintain the Low Voltage Harness lab space, equipment, and inventory
- Proactively identify areas of improvement through equipment procurement and automation
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of related experience with either harness manufacturing, automotive diagnostics or R&D setting related to wire harnesses
- Experience with wire harness manufacturing such as performing terminal crimps with hand tools
- Familiarity with high volume wire harness production processes
- Ability to reach electrical schematics and 2D harness prints to build harnesses or perform reworks
- Electrical troubleshooting skills using common electrical test equipment such as digital voltmeter and reading vehicle error codes
- Ability to work with ambiguity, minimal direction and be proactively improving the team’s capabilities
- Ability to efficiently execute repetitive tasks with high-quality results
- Experience creating reports for quality inspection or test reports
- Experience in an R&D or testing environment
- Candidates will take a skills test to validate these qualifications are met
Preferred:
- CATIA/Solidworks experience
- Previous experience with automotive diagnostics and repair for electrical systems.
- Experience using advanced electrical test equipment (Picoscope, CANalyzer, Vector Network Analyzer)
- Experience writing code for Arduinos or Rasberry Pi
- Experience working near or around high-voltage equipment
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Soldering certification
Base Pay Range (hourly)
$36 - $50 USD
