We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanical and electrical technicians, as well as controls engineers, in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
You Will:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel on 2nd shift.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, robotics, conveyors, and facility systems.
- Prioritize and assign work orders based on production needs and equipment criticality.
- Collaborate with day shift and engineering teams to ensure smooth shift transitions and issue resolution.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Work with controls engineers to implement automation improvements and resolve system faults.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, 5S, and TPM programs.
- Maintain accurate records of labor, parts usage, and downtime.
- Assist in planning and scheduling major repairs and shutdown activities.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new maintenance staff.
You Bring:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial).(highly advantageous).
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC/automation systems (Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
