The Facility Controls Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of Lucid’s AMP-2 facility automated systems. You will design, program, commission, and maintain control systems that manage HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and other automated infrastructure. You will lead controls projects, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize facility performance, reliability, and safety.
You Will:
- Lead the design, development, programming, testing, and commissioning of control systems including PLC, DCS, SCADA, and BMS for facility automation.
- Develop and optimize control strategies for HVAC, electrical distribution, mechanical systems, and other critical infrastructure.
- Perform detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis of control system failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Maintain, update, and enhance existing control system software and hardware to improve reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and external vendors to ensure seamless system integration and efficient facility operations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as control schematics, logic diagrams, system narratives, and operation manuals.
- Ensure control systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and Lucid policies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Participate in project planning, risk assessments, and commissioning activities related to control systems.
- Support facility expansions, upgrades, and retrofit projects with controls engineering expertise.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors during control system installation, testing, and validation phases.
- Implement best practices in control system security and reliability.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to optimize energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical and control Engineering, or Automation and Control Engineering and at least 5 years of professional experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in control systems engineering, preferably in facility management or industrial automation.
- Proven experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and BMS systems design, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Strong control logic programming skills (ladder logic, structured text).
- Expertise integrating control systems with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP).
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and facility automation equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulatory compliance (NFPA, OSHA, IEC).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Effective project management and leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
