You will:
- Lead the setup, commissioning, and optimization of stator manufacturing and assembly processes, including winding, insulation, impregnation, curing, and final assembly
- Develop and validate stator manufacturing process flows, equipment specifications, and control plans to meet quality, throughput, and cost targets
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and Design teams to ensure stator designs are manufacturable and robust for high‑volume production
- Own process development activities including PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures for stator manufacturing
- Diagnose manufacturing issues related to stator build quality, electrical performance, and mechanical integrity, and drive root cause and corrective actions
- Support process capability studies, yield improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across stator manufacturing lines
- Integrate stator processes with upstream and downstream drive unit assembly operations and line automation
- Conduct cycle time studies, line balancing, and layout engineering to optimize stator production efficiency
- Support FAT, TTO, and MRD milestones for stator manufacturing equipment and production launches
- Partner with maintenance, quality, operations and reliability engineering teams to sustain stator manufacturing equipment and improve uptime
- Maintain documentation for process parameters, equipment settings, validation records, and production data
- Interface with Product Engineering, NPI, Quality, Logistics, Automation, and Facilities teams to support stator manufacturing readiness
- Participate in CAPEX planning and execution for stator manufacturing equipment and infrastructure
- Engage in weekly syncs and program reviews to align on quality, supplier readiness, and launch status
You bring:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, STEM, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in electric motor, stator, or powertrain manufacturing engineering
- Hands‑on experience with stator manufacturing processes such as winding, insulation, impregnation, curing, or related motor component assembly
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills using structured methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, DOE)
- Experience supporting production launches, automation including MES/SAP, and manufacturing equipment commissioning
- Ability to travel up to 35% of the time
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
