About the Role

Lucid is seeking a highly analytical and operationally focused Trade-In Valuation Analyst to support the continued expansion of our in-house trade-in program. This role is responsible for vehicle valuations, trade acquisition support, pricing analysis, field escalation management, and operational execution throughout the trade-in lifecycle.

The Trade-In Valuation Analyst plays a critical role in maximizing vehicle acquisition profitability, improving customer experience, driving valuation accuracy, and supporting Lucid's broader pre-owned, wholesale, and Certified Pre-Owned business objectives. This role builds upon responsibilities currently performed by the Trade-In Operations team while supporting Lucid's planned expansion of internal trade acquisition capabilities. [1]2[2]

Responsibilities

Vehicle Valuation & Acquisition

  • Perform trade-in valuations for Lucid and non-Lucid vehicles using market intelligence, auction data, vehicle history reports, and pricing tools.
  • Review vehicle condition information, ownership history, title status, accident reports, and market demand factors.
  • Provide accurate and timely trade-in offers that balance customer conversion, inventory needs, and profitability targets.
  • Support lease return valuation activities and downstream remarketing decisions.

Trade-In Operations

  • Coordinate vehicle intake, transportation, title follow-up, and disposition activities.
  • Partner with Sales, Delivery, Service, Transaction Operations, Title Operations, and external vendors to resolve trade-in escalations.
  • Monitor trade-in workflows and identify opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve customer experience.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with applicable state and federal regulations.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze auction trends, wholesale values, retail demand, and EV market conditions to improve valuation accuracy.
  • Track key operational metrics including conversion rates, acquisition costs, vehicle turn times, gross profit, and inventory aging.
  • Develop reports and insights that support pricing strategy and business planning.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Support training and coaching for field teams on trade-in processes and valuation best practices.
  • Participate in system enhancement projects and user acceptance testing for trade-in platforms and tools.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for valuation strategy, trade acquisition, and vehicle disposition.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of automotive remarketing, vehicle valuation, wholesale, fleet, auction, finance, or trade-in operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle appraisal methodologies, market pricing, and wholesale channels.
  • Experience working with vehicle history reports, auction data, and valuation tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing large data sets.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in EV remarketing or automotive e-commerce.
  • Knowledge of vehicle title processing and registration requirements.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytics tools.
  • Understanding of auction platforms, transportation logistics, and reconditioning workflows.
  • Certified Automotive Remarketing Specialist (CARS) or equivalent industry certification.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$79,700 - $109,560 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
