POSITION SUMMARY

Located at our Byron Center, MI location, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of customer orders. This includes:

  • Promoting a safe work environment for all employee owners
  • Modeling Lumbermen’s core values
  • Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of production operations
  • Training, motivating, and coaching Employee Owners in a positive fashion to be their best
  • Processing customer orders in a timely manner ensuring excellent quality of all products
  • Ensuring that production meet or exceed goals established for safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Ensuring that all production areas are properly staffed for the day’s work
  • Maintaining a clean and organized department
  • Leading and making improvements to housekeeping standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Treating employee owners in a professional manner
  • Demonstrating a “customer first” mindset and mentality
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the leadership
  • Execute on departmental vision and be able to establish goals to achieve this vision

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.

This position is for internal candidates only. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Prior woodworking would be considered a plus; router, miter saws, table saws
  • Prior cabinet manufacturing or trim carpentry work would be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of exterior doors desired

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to delegate work and effectively lead a team to success
  • Effectiveness in providing clarity to team in achieving company goals and objectives
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to accurately read orders and stage material to internal customer needs
  • Desire to “do things right the first time”

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lb
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours/day.
