Risk Specialist (Heavy Civil Construction)
About the Position
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Risk Specialist to take risk management to the next level. In this critical role, you will lead risk assessment, mitigation, and monitoring efforts, ensuring our operations remain resilient and well-protected. You'll collaborate with key stakeholders—including operations, safety, HR, and legal—to implement robust risk management policies and maintain up-to-date risk registers.
This is a long-term, full-time, onsite position located in Denver, CO.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for management of risk management programs including risk assessment and identification, risk transfer and mitigation, and risk monitoring techniques.
- Coordinates closely with project operations and management, safety, human resources, legal and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for developing and updating risk registers and implementing risk management policies and procedures to protect company's assets and minimize liability exposures.
- Manage the interaction between all project participants related to risk management issues.
- Manage master Builders Risk program, including reporting.
- Develops and maintains risk register; Participates in running periodic project risk workshops.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in risk management in architecture, engineering, or construction industries.
- Experience working on program management teams for large, complex infrastructure design-build programs.
- Experience managing large programs (e.g., $500M+) utilizing quality and risk-based thinking.
- Working knowledge of TILOS and Acumen Fuse.
- Experience with Monte Carlo modeling software (e.g., Primavera Risk or similar).
- Proficiency with computers sufficient to conduct presentations and to create budgets and forecasts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- PMP certification.
- Experience working with aviation industry standards and regulations.
- Design-Build/P3 experience.
- Experience with and/or training in ISO 9001.
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $83k-$166k/yr ($40-$80/hr). The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate’s level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
