Job Overview

Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented PLC Engineer – Semiconductor Chemical Systems to support the design, programming, integration, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of automated control systems used within semiconductor chemical delivery and distribution systems.

This position will work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, sensors, valves, pumps, actuators, chemical delivery equipment, and related process-control components. The PLC Engineer will collaborate closely with controls engineers, electrical engineers, project managers, technicians, field teams, equipment vendors, subcontractors, and customers throughout system design, installation, startup, commissioning, and ongoing operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial automation and PLC programming, understands electrical and process-control systems, and is comfortable troubleshooting equipment and control-system issues in active semiconductor or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs for semiconductor chemical delivery and distribution systems.
  • Support PLC-based automation for chemical cabinets, valve manifold boxes, pumps, valves, actuators, sensors, instrumentation, and related process equipment.
  • Develop and modify HMI screens, alarms, interlocks, status displays, trends, and operator controls.
  • Support integration between PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, facility monitoring systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Perform PLC and control-system commissioning, startup, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Review control philosophies, sequences of operation, cause-and-effect matrices, alarm requirements, and interlock logic.
  • Configure and troubleshoot digital and analog I/O, instrumentation, communication networks, and control devices.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), system qualification, and turnover activities.
  • Troubleshoot PLC logic, communication failures, instrumentation issues, equipment faults, alarms, and control-system performance concerns.
  • Work with field technicians and electricians during equipment installation, wiring verification, I/O checkout, startup, and commissioning.
  • Review electrical drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Perform point-to-point and I/O verification between field devices and PLC control systems.
  • Support integration and communication using industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, BACnet, or similar protocols.
  • Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of variable frequency drives, motor controls, sensors, transmitters, valves, pumps, and other automated equipment.
  • Maintain PLC programs, HMI applications, control-system backups, revision histories, and technical documentation.
  • Document programming changes, troubleshooting activities, commissioning results, system configurations, and testing records.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, contractors, and customers regarding controls-related requirements and technical issues.
  • Support preventive maintenance, system upgrades, control modifications, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify potential control-system reliability, safety, or operational risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to field issues and provide technical support during system startup and production operations.
  • Follow company safety requirements and site-specific procedures when working around chemical and process equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
