Productization Engineer II

We are looking for highly motivated engineers with system mindsets and a passion for user experience to join the Productization Engineering team. Productization Engineering is a unique team within the Engineering department with a mission to bring a customer mindset to the detailed technical work being done on a daily basis. We are looking for individuals who are interested in system level product challenges and who enjoy cross-departmental thinking and problem solving. Qualified candidates for this role will find themselves working at the intersection of engineering, operations engineering, operations, product, and customer support teams; extraordinary communication skills are a must. Ideal candidates will exhibit exceptional system thinking and troubleshooting skills, combined with solid fundamental technical skills that demonstrate an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
What will you own?
- Drive the productization process for product lines, ensuring a smooth transition from development to production and customer deployment.
- Champion a customer-centric approach in development activities, focusing on usability, reliability, and supportability.
- Ensure design for serviceability (DFS) is integrated into the productization process.
- Develop processes for product documentation, including installation guides, troubleshooting manuals, and knowledge base articles, in collaboration with technical documentation and customer support teams.
- Act as a key technical resource during product launch and rollout, providing escalation support and resolving complex issues.
- Analyze field data and customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions.
- Manage the design, prototyping, and release of product updates and spare parts, ensuring successful rollout to customers.
- Work collaboratively with different teams to solve system issues.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 2+ years of related experience
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in an extremely fast-paced engineering environment
- Hands-on experience working with and debugging systems that involve various mechanical, electrical, and software components
- A hands-on approach to solving problems
- An ability to quickly adapt and focus on new challenges
- Understanding of and personal experience with various manufacturing methods
- Great time management skills
- Technical troubleshooting mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - can convey complex technical topics in simple terms across internal departments
- Experience writing technical troubleshooting documents
- Experience working with database tools (JIRA is a plus)
- Experience with change control systems (EPDM, Github, ERP and PLM systems) a plus
- Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion360, Onshape, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work with technical and operational teams
- Eagerness to take on new projects and responsibilities
