The Lead, US Logistics at Markforged will be responsible for supporting the development of logistics capabilities with highest level of service degree and unsurpassed responsiveness while improving productivity, efficiency, scalability, security, trade compliance and risk management. 

What will you own?

  • Monitor and improve current relationships with the regional logistics partners by participating in collaborative projects that lead to improvements in their overall performance. 
  • Improve the overall supply chain performance by proactively monitoring the KPI of the regional logistics partners while performing data analyses to propose process improvements to increase their overall performance. 
  • Own the key metrics related to the regional logistics partners and inventory management, for example, OTS (On Time Service), Order Fulfillment Accuracy and Inventory Accuracy by Unit and Value for all regional sites. This would include supporting and cooperating with regional partners to successfully close out the company’s EOQs.
  • Drive inventory management projects to align with company and departmental OKRs and objectives in all regional sites. These projects will target increasing inventory accuracy, improve reconciliation processes, burn down old inventory and quarantined units.
  • Drive continuous improvement of regional logistics operations by preparing analytical reports on a monthly basis to operations leadership on all areas of regional logistics operations. This will include collaborating with regional partners to prepare Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Drive results by working closely with the logistics counterparts of the entire Markforged supply chain. This includes external entities (suppliers, contract manufacturers, forward stocking locations, distribution centers, channel partners, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers) as well as cross-functionally  (filament manufacturing plant, order management, supply chain planning, procurement, finance and other functions as needed)
  • Work with 3PL to support import and export process, documentation, classification and compliance related activities to ensure efficient flow of materials between various trade regimes and implement, report changes to trade and customs regulations in a timely manner.
  • Work with 3PL and finance to manage inventory cycle counts.
  • Participate in Annual Operating Plan to formulate our logistics strategy and logistics budget. 
  • Manage multiple projects and key initiatives in the area of logistics and report on project progress regularly.
  • Support and execute protocols for Markforged to be in compliance with global export programs.
  • Support Markforged sales cycle, managing efforts tied to order fulfillment, revenue recognition and any escalations.

What you have:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably a minimum of 3-7 years of related responsibilities working in logistics,  supply chain management or transportation operations.
  • Previous people management experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics,  inventory, distribution, business, & management principles.
  • Strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Expert knowledge of logistics, inventory software and data systems.

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of LEAN concepts and demonstrated ability to apply concepts to daily operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, project management tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, or MS Project), and ERP systems.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and cost analysis skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience working with data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong command of Sage ERP, logistics software tools
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
