Gardening Facilitator- Contractor
DESCRIPTION:
The gardening facilitator will lead online and in person programs related to gardening for adults 55 and better. Gardening may include container gardening, supporting community gardening, using a grow light, and more.
This is a contractor position and is not eligible for Mather benefits.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Proven gardening expertise; experience teaching adults.
- Comfort with teaching groups of various sizes
- Capacity and willingness to work with a sense of flexibility and openness, along with the ability to foster positive peer interactions among participants.
- A strong commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of Mather.
Preferred:
- Experience working with older adults; experience teaching online.
- Knowledge of nutrition (e.g., benefits of various plants and herbs)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The gardening facilitator position is an independent contractors and paid $100 per contact hour in person, $75 per contact hour online via zoom. This rate includes all class preparation, set up and travel expenses. There are four additional hours of orientation/onboarding prior to class assignments, paid at $25 per hour.
