Utility Steward/Dishwasher
We are an award-winning employer seeking a Utility Steward/Dishwasher to play a key role in kitchen operations within our luxury senior living residence. You’ll support our culinary team by maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment, China and glassware, and flatware, as well as the back-of-house work area. You’ll also handle special projects, which may include helping in our restaurants if required. This position is part-time, Sunday 7am-3pm, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 12:30pm-8:30pm. Holiday availability required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain Cleanliness: Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and manual methods.
- Support Kitchen Flow: Ensure a steady supply of clean dishes and tools to support meal preparation and service. Maintain the food storeroom and special projects.
- Keep Kitchen Safe: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hazard-free kitchen environment.
- Organize and Restock: Properly store clean items in designated areas and restock supplies as needed.
- Assist with Kitchen Clean-Up: Help with general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with chefs, servers, and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- Able to understand, retain and apply basic instructions to perform routine tasks with limited supervision.
- Able to read and interpret work-related documents, including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and labels.
- Able to perform strenuous physical labor, lifting, carrying, etc.
- Reliable, predictable, and punctual attendance, to provide timely service to internal and external customers and to support uninterrupted business operations.
Preferred:
- 1 year experience.
- Sanitation Certificate.
- Shifts vary, flexible in scheduling preferred.
- English language proficiency.
