Maven is seeking a mission-driven, clinically rigorous Associate Medical Director, Metabolic Health to help lead the safe and scalable expansion of Maven’s programming with a focus on metabolic health and preventive care.
This role will guide the clinical design, implementation, and quality strategy of Maven’s women’s health and metabolic care offering while ensuring that care is evidence-based, integrated across life stages, and reflective of the unique journeys within women/family health. You’ll report to the Senior Medical Director and partner with our Operations, Clinical Quality, and Product teams to translate emerging science in metabolic medicine into compassionate, accessible, whole-person care.
You will play a pivotal role in extending Maven’s mission to make healthcare work for all of us while advancing how metabolic health is understood and treated across reproductive, hormonal, and life-stage transitions.
As an Associate Medical Director, Metabolic Health at Maven, you will:
- Provide medical leadership for Maven’s metabolic health prescribing program, including supervision of NPs/PAs in states requiring physician oversight
- Develop and maintain clinical protocols for medication initiation, titration, maintenance, and discontinuation (including but not limited to GLP-1RAs)
- Oversee clinical quality programs, including peer review, chart audits, and side-effect escalation management
- Ensure compliance with state-by-state tele-health, prescribing, and collaboration laws
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical escalations, adverse events, or complex medical cases
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design member pathways that integrate metabolic care with Maven’s broader women’s health offerings
- Mentor and support a team of NPs practicing across multiple states, ensuring alignment to Maven’s quality, documentation, and equity standards
- Stay current on emerging evidence, FDA guidance, and evolving regulations related to obesity medicine, compounding, and metabolic health
- Represent the metabolic health program in internal governance meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the clinical organization
- Provide direct member care up to 75% of time or as needed after initial build phase
- Shape Maven’s national GLP-1 care model and set the clinical standard for safe, accessible prescribing
- Collaborate with product, operations, and communications teams to integrate GLP-1 care into Maven’s broader clinical ecosystem
- Participate in strategic planning for long-term scale and quality governance
We’re looking for you to bring:
- Board-certified Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or OB-GYN physician with active, unrestricted U.S. license(s) (Obesity Medicine or Integrative Medicine certification ideal, but not necessary)
- Eligibility for or already licensed in multiple states via the FSMB Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (or willingness to obtain licensure)
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in obesity medicine, metabolic health, or tele-health leadership
- Demonstrated experience supervising advanced practice clinicians (NPs or PAs) across multiple states
- Familiarity with tele-health regulations, GLP-1 prescribing requirements, and compounding pharmacy oversight
- Exceptional communication skills, operational awareness, and comfort working cross-functionally
- Passion for women’s and family health and commitment to Maven’s mission of improving outcomes across life stages
The base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $230,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
This role requires active work authorization in the US.
