Job Summary
May Mobility is a self-driving technology company working to transform today's mobility landscape, by starting with a niche market–low-speed shuttles for public roadways. Our vehicles are on the streets of Detroit, Michigan, Arlington, Texas, Miami, Florida and Nagoya, Japan, among others, navigating complex downtown scenarios and transporting thousands of people on their daily commute every week. To address the challenge of ever increasing autonomy stack complexity, May Mobility is seeking an Autonomy Integration Engineer to help unify different autonomy features into a seamless autonomous driving solution. Before autonomy software can undergo the exacting release process, May Autonomy division conducts integration sessions to identify any interaction effects between different features and burns them down to deliver stable, performant SW to the release team. This role would be instrumental in ensuring that the product we deliver is robust, safe and comfortable.
This opportunity is a hybrid role, where office work is located at May Mobility HQ in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Moderate travel may be required to the sites where integration events are held.
Essential Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for tracking features from different autonomy teams for inclusion into an integration branch
- You will be responsible for branch management for those features during the integration sessions
- You will review and analyze simulation results for the combined integration branches, providing actionable insights to the feature developers
- You will conduct test drives using integration SW, review the resulting logs, triage issues and provide actionable insights to the feature developers
- You will develop tools to help improve the smooth running of the integration sessions, including but not limited to simulation analysis support, feature tracking support, branch management, performance evaluation and other processes
- You will contribute to identifying and fixing the issues resulting from integrating disparate autonomy features
- You will participate in feature design, code reviews, issue diagnosis, and resolution to enhance overall autonomy performance
- You will take responsibility for preparing the vehicles for the integration sessions
- You will be responsible for writing high quality scalable code, conduct data driven analysis and verification, complete work on time satisfying team roadmap and milestones
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 1+ years of industry experience working on real-world robot systems maintaining high-quality of industrial-grade code
- Strong programming skills in C/C++/Python, software development in Linux environment and git management
- Familiarity with with multiple aspects of robotics/autonomous systems
- Ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively across multiple teams
- Good communication skills
Desirable
- Hands on experience in building robotic or autonomous systems
- Hands on experience in managing git workflows
- Hands on experience in field robotics or autonomous driving
- Experience delivering high quality code to robots working in the field
Physical Requirements

Salary Range
$108,000 - $140,000 USD
