Social Strategy Director

NYC

At M Booth, we are a culture-first communications agency that attracts the best people and the best brands. Our workplace thrives on courage, ideas, respect, and humanity, driving meaningful change for our clients. We are deeply passionate about staying ahead in the fast-moving world of social media, sharpening storytelling strategies, and leveraging groundbreaking insights to create campaigns that win in the marketplace.

We operate as a hybrid workforce, focusing on how we lead and inspire, not where. Our philosophy—Be IRL (Inspired Relevant Leaders)—emphasizes the importance of intentional connections, driving collaboration and creativity across our team and clients alike.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Social Strategy Director to join our growing team and lead bold, culturally relevant campaigns for clients in the CPG space.

Social Strategy Director

This leadership role is ideal for a social strategist who’s deeply immersed in the culture of the internet—someone who lives at the intersection of strategy, memes, trends, and influence. With 8+ years of experience, you’ll take the lead in recasting familiar CPG brands through innovative, social-first strategies that align with brand goals and drive meaningful growth. You’ll stay ahead of trends, lead conversations, and build communities across platforms.

As the Social Strategy Director, you’ll manage complex, multi-platform campaigns from concept to completion and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You’ll also play a key client-facing role—delivering insights, providing strategic counsel, and leading new business initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Social-First Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute integrated social strategies that align with business goals and create new relevance for familiar brands in the CPG space.
  • Build tailored social playbooks that combine paid, earned, and organic strategies, ensuring brands show up authentically.
  • Stay obsessed with social trends—from TikTok sounds to Instagram aesthetics—and translate memes, moments, and behaviors into meaningful brand activations.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital, and media teams to shape platform-specific campaigns that resonate with online audiences.
  • Inform influencer marketing efforts, partnering with our influencer team and working with creators who align with the brand and building authentic partnerships.

Client Leadership

  • Serve as day-to-day client lead on all things social, not only answering incoming communications but anticipating needs
  • Provide counsel to clients on staying culturally relevant and platform-optimized.
  • Be visible to clients, presenting campaign ideas, strategic recommendations, and performance insights in meetings, emails, or on-camera.

Collaboration & Team Leadership

  • Mentor and inspire team members, fostering innovation and growth across the department.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.
  • Oversee community management strategies, guiding the tone of brand responses to keep conversations relevant and engaging.
  • Work closely with creative teams to develop engaging social content that aligns with each platform's best practices and emerging trends.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate campaign success across platforms.
  • Lead real-time reporting during campaigns, providing actionable insights to optimize performance mid-flight.
  • Monitor platform updates and algorithm changes, ensuring strategies evolve with social trends.

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in social media strategy, digital marketing, or communications, ideally within the CPG or consumer space.
  • Deep understanding of social media culture—you’re someone who loves exploring TikTok trends, follows meme accounts, and knows how to create viral moments.
  • Expertise across all major platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Meta, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest) and fluency in emerging platforms.
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills, comfortable presenting in person or on-camera.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and campaigns with measurable results.
  • Proficiency in social media management and measurement tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, and Infegy Atlas.
  • A strong pulse on cultural trends and audience behavior shifts, with the ability to translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Experience leading clients, serving as a day-to-day lead.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, always-online environments while juggling multiple priorities.

What We’ll Bring

  • A workplace alive with courage, ideas, and respect, fostering personal and professional growth.
  • Competitive compensation package with comprehensive healthcare and wellness plans.
  • 401(k) savings plan, Flexible Spending Accounts, and unlimited PTO.
  • Paid holidays, Summer Fridays, and family leave programs.
  • A hybrid work environment with flexibility to meet client needs across NYC and beyond.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000

Location & Flexible Work Policy

For those within the NYC hub, we meet in person two days a week—whether that’s in our office, a client’s space, or at an industry event. If you’re outside the NYC area, you’ll have periodic opportunities to join in-person meetings and client events to maintain connections. Collaboration is a cornerstone of our policy, with flexibility built in to ensure work-life balance.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
