Project Engineer - Land Development

Position Purpose
Design and produce high quality civil utility and site designs for our projects while working closely with our talented group of engineers and project managers.
Essential Functions + Responsibilities
• Design and produce civil engineering construction documents (site plans, utility plan/profile, design reports, specifications)
• Manage design and production of civil engineering construction documents (site plans, utility plan/profile, stormwater management facility CDs, design reports, specifications)
• Assist in review agency coordination for site permitting
• Work in accordance with company standards from concept phase through construction administration for a variety of projects.
• Civil utility and site design (water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, HGL modeling, fire flow design, and storm water management) and coordination with typical mechanical utilities
• Site grading, earthworks, and sediment/erosion control design and permitting
• Function as a liaison between the CAD Technician, Designer, and Project Manager
• Write and assemble well organized design reports for presentation of design concepts
• Work in accordance with established company standards to efficiently produce complete and accurate construction plans
Qualifications
• Four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in civil site design and team coordination
• PE preferred
• Thorough background in governmental regulations, AutoCAD-CIVIL 3D, plan preparation, surveying principles and construction techniques
• Proficiency in design of water and sewer mains, mass grading, roadway horizontal and vertical design, erosion control, and storm drainage for residential and commercial projects
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
