The Role
As a Human Resources Adviser, you will play a vital role in supporting the firm’s strategic goals by building and developing a high-performing workforce.
This multifaceted position combines a variety of responsibilities, including operational human resources support in the Brisbane office to the legal assistant cohort and legal teams, supporting the Early Careers Program, assisting with learning and development initiatives, driving recruitment efforts and coaching leaders on effective management practices.
A key focus of your role will be partnering closely with the Human Resources Coordinator to lead and enhance the Early Careers Program. You will be a trusted leader and collaborator, supporting the coordinator’s professional growth within this space. You will be part of a high-performing and well-regarded team within the business, known for its collaborative culture and commitment to development, offering strong opportunities for your own professional growth and impact.
Key duties will include:
- Delivering operational HR support and advice to the Legal Assistant cohort and legal teams in the Brisbane office;
- Collaborating with the Human Resources Coordinator Brisbane and the Human Resources Adviser Sydney to drive the National Early Careers program;
- Partnering with the Business Development and Marketing team to develop targeted marketing, branding, and social media strategies to promote the early career space;
- Managing the Early Careers learning and development program in alignment with the College of Law PLT timeline;
- Coordinating graduate rotations, check-ins, permanent placements and performance feedback;
- Supporting the annual recruitment process for clerks and graduates, ensuring strategy targets are met;
- Acting as a key HR contact for Brisbane graduates and clerks, in partnership with the HR Coordinator; and
- Proactively supporting the Chief People Officer and Head of Human Resources – Brisbane with adhoc projects.
Experience
As the successful candidate, you will bring a minimum of five years of human resources experience, ideally gained within the legal or professional services environment. You will have a proven track record of proactively managing diverse stakeholders and building strong relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will enable you to confidently engage with partners, leaders, and staff alike. You will demonstrate sound judgment and the confidence to make well-informed decisions and recommendations. Above all, you will possess a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service to your internal clients, with a flexible approach that may occasionally include participation in HR activities outside of regular business hours.
