Job Summary:

Mercer Advisors is hiring a Senior Director, Sales Performance & Enablement, to build and scale a world-class enablement function for our Client Development organization. This leader will accelerate ramp for new Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), raise sales execution consistency across the field, and improve measurable outcomes (conversion, win rate, cycle efficiency, and pipeline quality).

This is a strategic, hands-on role that blends enablement strategy, coaching rigor, curriculum design, and performance analytics—within a financial services / wealth management environment where credibility, client trust, and compliant selling matter.

Essential Job Functions for this role include:

  • Enablement strategy & operating cadence: Build the enablement roadmap and run programs end-to-end in partnership with Sales Leadership, RevOps, Marketing, Product, and Compliance.
  • RVP onboarding & ramp: Design and deliver structured onboarding, 30/60/90 ramp plans, and readiness checkpoints that reduce time-to-productivity.
  • Coaching & field performance: Implement a scalable coaching system (call listening/scoring, role plays, deal reviews, pipeline inspection) to improve seller effectiveness and confidence.
  • Curriculum & skill progression: Own a tiered curriculum (foundational → advanced) that strengthens consultative selling, financial planning acumen, and competitive value defense.
  • Playbooks, talk tracks, and messaging: Create and maintain a single source of truth for sales playbooks, discovery guides, objection handling, competitive positioning, and best practices—built for real field use and adoption.
  • Measurement & impact: Define enablement KPIs, track adoption and proficiency, and tie programs to business outcomes (ramp time, conversion rates, win rates, cycle time, call quality).
  • Financial services standards (must-have): Partner with Compliance/Legal to ensure training, messaging, and field tools support compliant communication and high-integrity client engagement.
  • Team leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing enablement team and/or a network of field champions.

What Success Looks Like

  • New RVPs ramp faster and reach productivity more predictably.
  • Consistent execution of the Mercer sales process, talk tracks, and tools across regions.
  • Improved call quality, stronger discovery, clearer value articulation, and better late-stage execution.
  • Measurable uplift in conversion and win rates, with better pipeline hygiene and forecasting reliability.
  • A scalable enablement engine that supports growth and raises the bar across Client Development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 10+ years in sales enablement, sales excellence, revenue productivity, sales training/coaching, or related GTM leadership.
  • Financial services / wealth management experience required (RIA, broker-dealer, or similarly complex advisory environment).
  • Proven track record building and scaling: onboarding programs, coaching systems, curricula, certifications, and playbooks.
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling and credibility in holistic financial planning conversations.
  • Highly analytical and outcomes-driven; comfortable using data to set priorities and prove impact.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and executive communication skills; able to influence senior sales leaders and experienced sellers.
  • Familiarity with sales technology (CRM, call recording/conversation intelligence, enablement/LMS tools, content systems).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience enabling multi-region field teams and senior sales roles.
  • Experience building manager enablement and coaching toolkits.
  • Background partnering closely with Compliance in regulated selling environments.
