Workday Data Conversion Consultant
The Opportunity
Meridian Partners is seeking an experienced Workday Data Conversion Consultant to lead data migration efforts for Workday HCM and Financials implementations. In this role, you will design and execute end-to-end data conversion strategies, ensuring accurate, secure, and timely migration of legacy data into Workday.
You’ll collaborate closely with functional consultants, technical teams, and client stakeholders throughout planning, testing, and go-live.
Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Planning
- Lead the end-to-end Workday data conversion workstream for mid-sized and enterprise-level implementations.
- Develop comprehensive data conversion strategies, including scoping, legacy system analysis, data extraction requirements, and conversion timelines.
- Facilitate data workshops with clients to define data dictionaries, business rules, mapping logic, transformation rules, and data quality requirements.
- Identify data dependencies across HCM, Payroll, and Finance.
- Plan and assist in the execution of all tenant builds.
Data Mapping, Transformation & Loading
- Design and maintain data mapping documentation between legacy systems and Workday business objects.
- Build and execute EIBs, iLoads, Workday Studio integrations, and custom conversion tools as needed.
- Apply transformation logic to ensure data adheres to Workday formats, constraints, and validations.
- Perform iterative data loads throughout multiple mock conversion cycles.
Data Validation & Reconciliation
- Develop validation scenarios, balancing reports, and audit logs.
- Lead data validation sessions with client teams to reconcile Workday-loaded data against legacy sources.
- Resolve defects, data anomalies, and load errors through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Testing & Go-Live
- Support unit testing, system testing, UAT, and parallel testing as they relate to converted data.
- Coordinate with functional and technical leads to ensure data readiness for go-live.
- Lead the data migration cutover process and post–go-live data support.
Client Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary data conversion subject matter expert and advisor to client stakeholders.
- Partner with Workday functional consultants and integration teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end solution delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of Workday implementation experience with 3+ full lifecycle data conversions
- Workday Data Conversion Certification is REQUIRED
- Strong expertise in Workday HCM and Financials data structures
- Hands-on experience with EIBs, iLoads, and Workday Studio
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, CSV transformations, and data validation
- Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements
Pay Transparency
Compensation for roles at Meridian varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific practice, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Meridian provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.
Base Salary Range is $140,000 to $170,000 plus bonus is available for this specific role.
