Summer Internship – Accounting, Finance, or Management Information Systems (MIS)

 About the Role 

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented student to join our team for a hands‑on summer internship. This role offers exposure to real‑world business operations and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support our financial, operational, and technology-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a collaborative environment. 

 

What You’ll Do 

Depending on your major and interests, your experience may include: 

Accounting & Finance Focus 

  • Assist with monthly financial close activities, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts through data collection and modeling. 
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership review. 
  • Help evaluate financial controls and participate in process‑improvement initiatives. 
  • Conduct research on industry benchmarks, cost drivers, or internal performance metrics. 

MIS / Data / Systems Focus 

  • Support system enhancements, data integrity reviews, and reporting improvements. 
  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), documentation, and workflow updates. 
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities. 
  • Build or optimize dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel. 
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings on technology or process-transformation initiatives.

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, MIS, Business Analytics, or a related field 
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas) 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment 

Preferred 

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) 
  • Familiarity with financial statements or data visualization concepts 
  • Attention to detail and strong desire to learn
