Director of Product, Stadiums & Venues

The Role 

Metropolis is seeking a Director of Product to build our Stadiums & Venues product from the ground up. Your mission is to make the journey remarkable for visitors to stadiums, convention centers, and large venues across the United States. Your clients will include major league sports teams (MLB, NFL, and NBA), high profile events, and major performing arts players.  

You’ll lead product discovery and identify customer needs across our diverse venue portfolio. You will craft our product strategy and partner with design, engineering, and analytics to build a product that gets venue visitors where they need to go quickly and easily. Along the way, you and the team will leverage and expand our best-in-class AI and computer vision platform. You’ll collaborate with experts in areas such as city planning and traffic demand and lead strategic and product conversations with the leadership team at Metropolis and our customers. 

 

Responsibilities  

  • Create the vision for our Stadiums & Venues product delivering a remarkable experience for our visitors and excellent business results for our venue partners   
  • Own product roadmaps, communicate and manage deadlines, and contribute to the vision of the larger product ecosystem 
  • Drive strategic product conversations with our venue partners from on-the-ground teams to the executive stakeholders 
  • Partner with ticket marketplace companies and enable a seamless online-to-offline experience 
  • Lead agile product development using data, feedback from the field, interviews with users and experts, competitive analysis, and qualitative and quantitative research 
  • Design clear requirements and success metrics to align and drive team work efforts 
  • Identify, track, and solve for issues, bugs, and obstacles impacting our success 
  • Understand and decompose complex problems into manageable components 
  • Build strong relationships with engineers, operations, customers, and executives to lead development efforts, gather feedback, drive adoption, and measure our success 

 

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience 
  • 10+ years of product management and business leadership  
  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills including experience collaborating with high-profile executive leaders 
  • Track record of driving zero-to-one product strategy and implementation in new verticals with measurable business impact, ideally in both physical and digital ecosystems 
  • Experience leading, managing, and mentoring product managers 
  • Significant experience using analytics to drive product and business success. Knowledge of machine learning and AI techniques is a plus. 
  • Strong working knowledge of modern web technologies, distributed computing, and system design 
  • Strong user empathy and a knack for brilliant user-centric design 
  • Entrepreneurial drive and ability to thrive in open-ended environments 
  • Positive, open, and team-oriented approach to work 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize trade-offs 
  • Willingness to travel 

 

When you join Metropolis, you’ll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. You will play a key role in building and maintaining this culture as our organization grows. The anticipated base salary for this position is $180,000.00 to 220,000.00 annually. The actual base pay offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base pay is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.
