
Tax Manager
With over 30 years of experience in the acquisition, development, rehabilitation, and management of apartment communities across the Western United States, we are a trusted partner in the property management industry. We are looking for a Tax Manager who will be responsible for the management of the income tax function and preparation for all partnerships owned and controlled by MG and its affiliates.
Responsibilities
- Ability to prepare, organize and coordinate the federal and state income tax return process for the company’s 140 partnerships each year
- Distribution of over 18,000 K-1s to the investors by the March 15th deadline
- Calculate and prepare journal entries for book/tax differences
- Oversee the filing of all business personal property tax filings
- Assist with all monthly and quarterly state filings
- Coordinate the filing of all Federal and State withholding forms
- Must be able to assist VP of Tax and Treasury in coordinating with outside CPA’s and consultants.
- Manager the Company's tax department to ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state and local tax returns.
- Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax laws.
- Train and mentor junior staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA Required
- 5+ years of federal tax compliance experience with 1065s
- Experience with multi-tiered real estate partnership structures and allocations
- Preferred experience with big 4 or large CPA firms
- Strong knowledge of Excel
Compensation and Benefits
- $130,000-$140,000 annually
- Company profit sharing
