About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative communications specialist to join our brand marketing team as a Copywriter & Integrated Content Strategist. You’ll help refine our brand voice and messaging across marketing channels and throughout the customer experience, crafting compelling copy that voices our mission and drives conversions, and assist production of copy touchpoints. Our ideal candidate is a strategic and conceptual storyteller—someone who can think big and write small, all while navigating a fast-paced, execution-focused startup environment.

You’ll also play a key role in wielding AI tools trained on our brand voice to increase creative productivity and scale creative output without sacrificing quality. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to partner with both people and technology to push the boundaries of what smart, effective copy can do.

If that sounds like the challenge you’re looking for, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion and evolve the Misfits Market voice across every touchpoint: site, storefront and product pages, email, paid media, social, SMS, blog, SEO/content marketing, product and more
  • Create conversion-focused copy for growth campaigns, including ads, landing pages, and lifecycle flows
  • Bring clarity and creativity to our value proposition and mission at every stage of the funnel
  • Continuously hone our brand voice and style guide as the company evolves and infuse storytelling whenever possible
  • Collaborate with product, lifecycle, brand, and growth teams to align messaging across customer journeys, including testing in the signup funnel
  • Brief and build blog posts and landing pages in partnership with content and growth team members, performing keyword research, tailoring copy to SEO goals, and assessing performance data post launch
  • Use our brand-trained AI tools to ideate, draft, and refine content faster and more efficiently
  • Balance high-volume weekly and campaign needs with big-picture brand-building efforts
  • Help package complex ideas into concise, clear messaging that drives action
  • Be an advocate for the customer in every piece of content you write

Who You Are:

  • An expert communicator with a keen ability to conceptualize, package, and execute great storytelling across multiple channels
  • A playful writer who prizes brevity, wit, and creativity
  • A strategic thinker who can work autonomously and doesn’t need hand-holding
  • A decisive but flexible collaborator who enjoys working cross-functionally and navigating stakeholder feedback
  • Obsessively detail-oriented and capable of delivering clean, effective copy—from subject lines to landing pages to blog headlines
  • Well-versed in food and passionate about connecting with people through cooking and eating
  • Excited about working in a high-growth, high-impact environment—and using tools like AI to move faster without cutting corners

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of copywriting and SEO experience at an agency, e-commerce company, or consumer brand (food preferred)
  • Experience writing across a variety of formats and channels, including digital, email, paid media, OOH, and product
  • Familiarity with direct-response principles and performance marketing best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or Creative Writing (or equivalent experience)
  • Comfortable managing fast-paced production timelines and shifting priorities

Bonus Points If You…

  • Have worked in a subscription-based or e-commerce business model
  • Have edited or enhanced AI-generated content
  • Are deeply excited about Misfits Market’s mission and the opportunity to reduce food waste and build a better food system

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
