About The Role

We’re a telehealth company helping people lose weight at scale. At Mochi Health, we’re building our research function from the ground up. As our founding Senior Research Scientist, you’ll define the direction of the company. You’ll design studies, develop advanced models, and deploy AI-driven tools that transform care delivery. This is a rare opportunity to join at day one, shape core research infrastructure, and set the standard for evidence-based innovation in a high-growth environment.

What You’ll Do

• Build our research capabilities from scratch—processes, tools, and standards

• Lead high-impact studies to improve efficiency, personalization, and outcomes

• Develop and validate statistical + ML models for forecasting and workflow optimization

• Integrate Generative AI and LLMs into clinical and operational workflows

• Apply causal inference, experimental design, and advanced analytics to guide strategy

• Translate findings into tools, dashboards, and playbooks that scale with the company

Who You Are

• Bachelors or Master’s in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, CS, Health Data Science, Epidemiology)

• 5+ years of experience

• Strong Python + SQL skills; builds maintainable, reproducible pipelines

• Experienced in visualization (Tableau, Plotly, Streamlit) for diverse audiences

• Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and energized by building from zero to one

• Thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership of big, undefined problems

• Comfortable working on-site in downtown San Francisco, Monday through Friday

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $300,000 to $450,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The salary range listed in each job posting represents the minimum and maximum targets for new hire salaries across all locations. Actual compensation within this range is determined by various factors, such as job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.
