Partnership & Merchant Manager

Mission

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in increasing MoneySmart's marketplace revenue by actively seeking partnership opportunities and devising innovative commercial solutions for new and existing partners. They will champion MoneySmart as a valued partner and act in the best interests of MoneySmart, our customers, and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of merchants and strategic partners to drive business growth
  • Optimise costing and campaign strategies to improve MoneySmart’s gross profit margin
  • Communicate monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear alignment and timely execution
  • Collaborate with partners and the campaigns team to deliver effective and high-impact campaigns
  • Negotiate and secure favourable pricing, exclusives, and campaign opportunities that align with strategic objectives
  • Identify creative solutions and resolve partner challenges effectively at the country level
  • Onboard new merchants and partnerships to expand offerings to drive campaign performance

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in sales/commercial/account management/partnership roles
  • Experience in the online/digital industry/agencies, preferably in InsurTech/FinTech/banking/e-commerce (marketplace) environments, with a strong understanding of digital marketing, marketing funnels, and content marketing
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/campaigns at a time while paying strict attention to details
  • Spoken and written English language proficiency

Critical Success Factors

Business Development

  • Opportunistic in hunting and managing merchants and partners from various industries. Owning the sales cycle from pitching to relationship building and execution
  • Own MoneySmart’s content partnerships and incentives P&L
  • Finding creative and effective solutions to find win-win opportunities across partners
  • Independently manage MoneySmart campaigns, including P&L management, cross-departmental collaboration, campaign launches, and performance tracking
  • Diagnose performance issues/blockers and propose corrective measures

Accountability & Initiative

  • Drive internal and external buy-ins from internal (E.g. Loyalty and Retention) and external initiatives (E.g. Content Partnerships)
  • Be proactive and prioritize across both internal and external projects while managing stakeholders to ensure successful execution of projects
  • Demonstrate proactive attitude through consistent follow-ups on work in progress, project initiatives, and revenue prospects
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ideate, diagnose, and propose strategic and tactical solutions for improving performance / driving growth and scalability
  • Be a team player and mentor to team members of the business development team
