People Product Lead
đ Weâre on a mission to make money work for everyone.
Weâre waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.
After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us.
With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!
Weâre not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo â¤ď¸

â Our People Product team
We call it Monzo Magic. Mission. Action. Growth. Inclusion. Care.
It runs through everything we do. And within the People Collective, itâs how we set Monzo up for success by bringing together mission-led people to do work and banking differently.
Weâve built a culture that centres on our customers and brings together the best of tech with the best of banking. We empower a diverse, high-performing, innovative and agile workforce to do the most impactful work of their careers.
Scaling that culture and way of working is no small task. But itâs a mission weâre fully committed to.
As we grow, we want to make sure every Monzonaut feels supported, seen and set up to succeed. That means being thoughtful about how we design the experience of working here, and building it in a way thatâs sustainable, inclusive and scalable. Weâre hiring our first People Product Lead to help us do exactly that.
Weâre building a small yet mighty People Product squad of two, focused on taking ownership of the key moments across the employee lifecycle.
Some areas already have a foundation in place, like performance and succession. Others havenât been built yet or donât have clear ownership. This new role is about designing experiences that work well for people and for Monzo.
Weâre looking for someone who can:
- Take on big, undefined problems and turn them into simple, useful solutions
- Build new products and improve existing ones that no longer fit
- Own high-impact programmes while staying responsive to future priorities
đ Youâll play a key role by...
Youâll move between leading long-term initiatives, shipping new ideas and improving the everyday experiences that affect Monzonauts.
Redesigning whatâs not working
Weâve outgrown some of our processes. Youâll step back, assess the friction and rebuild thoughtfully. This might include:
- Redesigning our off-boarding process to generate useful insights and support better transitions
- Running retros with teams to identify friction points and improve how we manage projects
- Rethinking how the People Collective plans, prioritises and delivers cross-functional work
Owning key programmes
Youâll lead two foundational people products that support performance and talent growth.
- Own our performance process, including our philosophy, cycle, tooling and feedback
- Lead succession and talent planning in collaboration with leaders and people partners
- Continually assess and improve these programmes to keep them impactful and inclusive
Planning for whatâs next
Youâll help us spot whatâs around the corner and get ahead of it.
- Identify areas we havenât had capacity to explore but know weâll need
- Support Monzo's evolution, helping us anticipate and deliver the people-related building blocks as we scale
- Shape our approach to organisational effectiveness, including team structures and decision-making rhythms
Designing from scratch
Some challenges donât yet have a home. Hereâs some examples of what you might tackle from insight to implementation:
- Creating a consistent and supportive process for Monzonauts returning from extended leave, such as parental or caregiver leave
- Defining what retirement looks like at Monzo, a space weâve never tackled before
- Improving coordination between the People team and our internal content team, including governance and workflow clarity
𤊠Weâd love to hear from you ifâŚ
- Youâve built people products or programmes from the ground up, especially in fast-growing or tech-first companies
- You care deeply about employee experience and have a track record of improving it through thoughtful design
- Youâre outcome-focused and able to make decisions that balance idealism with pragmatism
- Youâre energised by ambiguity and enjoy making sense of open questions
- You work well across teams and bring others with you when building something new
- You understand how tech can support people systems, even if youâre not an engineer or systems expert
- You want to help Monzo set a new standard for how companies support and grow their people
How you'll work...
- Start with purpose: Keep the goals clear and focus on the problems weâre trying to solve
- Design for people: Create experiences that are intuitive, equitable and able to scale with Monzo
- Work like a product thinker: Prioritise outcomes, run tests and iterate as you learn
- Collaborate across functions: Partner closely with People Ops, Tech, Reward, Content and People Partners
- Use good judgment: Know when to optimise, when to rebuild and when to leave something alone
- Stay curious: Explore new ideas, learn from others and help us keep evolving
