💼 The Role

If you love telling entrepreneurial stories, driving ambitious PR strategies and are passionate about what Monzo is doing, this could be the role for you! We're looking for an experienced PR professional to join our team as a Senior PR and Communications Manager for Monzo Business, an area of Monzo that now supports more than 600,000 small and medium-sized businesses and is growing fast, attracting a wider variety of businesses than ever before. 

You will have strong experience managing successful PR activities and campaigns for an SME audience and managing day-to-day activities as part of a busy press office.  You'll be working closely with the Monzo Business team, from marketing and engineering to product, to devise and execute on PR strategies that support business goals and showcase the best of Monzo Business. You'll need to be an exceptional communicator and a strong collaborator with the ability to multitask.

This role is for a strategic planner and doer, you see the big picture but are not afraid to get your hands dirty and approach projects in a collaborative manner. 

You'll report to the VP of Communications and join a growing team which includes a Director of Corporate Communications, two Senior PR and Communications Managers, a Senior Corporate Communications Manager and a PR Manager.

 

🔑You’ll play a key role by…

  • Leading the PR strategy for Monzo Business, shaping how we communicate our value and impact.
  • Working with internal teams to develop and pitch expert commentary, opinion pieces, and speaker opportunities that showcase Monzo’s expertise and perspective on business banking trends
  • Building relationships with key media and journalists 
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders within Monzo Business on how to approach external communications, media engagement, and narrative development
  • Driving and supporting ambitious PR strategies for new Monzo Business products launches 
  • Showcasing the  success stories of our business banking customers in the press
  • Managing press inquiries
  • Collaborating across teams to uncover compelling stories relevant to an SME audience
  • Mining data and insights to create engaging media stories
  • Being an excellent team player within a growing, high-performing team

  • A proven track record of securing impactful media coverage for a business audience.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Examples of how you've raised the bar on projects, demonstrating both innovative creativity and outstanding results.
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders and successfully collaborating with multiple internal teams.
  • A genuine passion and ambition for the Monzo brand and our mission!

📍This role can be based in our London or Cardiff office, or distributed working within the UK (with regular meetings in London and potential international travel).
