IT Cybersecurity Lead

Overview

Moonshot is scaling rapidly, bringing increased complexity across internet-facing systems, ERP integrations, and AI adoption. This role sits at the core of that evolution.

As IT Security and Digital Transformation Lead, you'll be the person who makes sure Moonshot's technology footprint is secure and that the company is leveraging AI to its full potential. You'll work across the organization to build security frameworks, drive AI adoption, and ensure Moonshot's systems are ready for the next stage of growth.

This role reports to the Director of Digital Transformation & Cybersecurity and plays a critical role in enabling secure innovation at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Governance & Policy

• Establish and maintain enterprise-wide security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Define acceptable use, enforce governance, and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements.

2. Application & API Security

• Define and enforce security standards for all internet-facing applications and integrations.
• Ensure secure design and deployment of customer portals, vendor systems, and payment platforms. Lead penetration testing and enforce SSO, MFA, and API security controls.

3. Enterprise & Network Security

• Own endpoint protection, network security, and threat detection across the organization.
• Continuously improve monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management capabilities.

4. IT Controls & Compliance

• Design and maintain a scalable controls framework aligned with SOC 2, NIST, and ITGC.
• Support audits, ensure compliance readiness, and integrate controls into daily operations.

5. Data Security & Governance

• Define data classification standards and enforce access control policies across systems.
• Protect sensitive data within ERP platforms, integrations, and cloud environments.

6. Security Awareness & Risk Management

• Promote a security-first culture across the organization.
• Provide training, assess risks across new technologies (including emerging tools), and guide teams on secure practices.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Experience:

• 7+ years in IT security, cybersecurity, or technology risk (enterprise consulting or industry experience)
• Experience building or implementing security frameworks and IT controls (NIST, SOC2, ITGC, or similar)
• Demonstrated experience driving technology adoption across non-technical teams

Skills & Tools:

• Strong understanding of application security, network security, and cloud infrastructure
• Ability to translate complex security and AI concepts into practical guidance for business teams
• Experience evaluating and deploying AI/automation tools in an enterprise environment
