VP of Marketing

Morse Micro is seeking a VP of Marketing to join our team. In this role, you will report to the CEO and be responsible for developing and executing the company's marketing strategies. You'll work closely with our sales, product and engineering teams to evangelize Wi-Fi HaLow and bring Morse Micro’s chips to market. You will lead the global Marketing team to help us reach new audiences and expand our market share.

To be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of  technical product marketing, as well as a passion for technology and innovation. You should be a creative thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills, and you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Go-to-market strategy:
    • Execute on a comprehensive GTM strategy for current and future Morse Micro chips.
    • Define and execute a customer segmentation and support strategy to support a broad range of customers, from tier-1 OEMs to the millions of developers. 
    • Drive competitive positioning and strategic partnerships with chip and ecosystem partners, solution providers, and module vendors & ODM partners.
  • Strategic customer support:
    • Support the sales team with outbound sales collateral including presentations, case studies, use case comparisons, whitepapers, datasheets and product roadmaps. 
    • Develop and manage relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Support strategic module vendors, ODM partners and OEM customers with their product GTM strategy, including Wi-Fi certification, product announcements, etc.
  • Developer community support:
    • Establish and grow a Wi-Fi HaLow hardware & software developer community. 
    • Lead an internal team of hardware and software engineers to support the online developer community. 
  • Outbound marketing:
    • Evangelize Wi-Fi HaLow at various trade shows around the globe including CES, MWC, Wireless Japan, Embedded World, etc.
    • Promote Morse Micro in industry consortiums, including Wi-Fi Alliance, Wireless Broadband Alliance, Wi-Fi NOW, the Japanese 802.11ah Promotion Council, etc. 
    • Provide thought leadership on Wi-Fi HaLow by publishing LinkedIn posts, Blog posts, Youtube videos, etc.
    • Manage and oversee the company website and social media platforms, ensuring consistent, engaging, and on-brand content to drive audience growth and customer engagement.
  • Team leadership and collaboration:
    • Inspire and lead our internal + external marketing communications team.
    • Establish and drive an internal open source hardware and software engineering team.
    • Work closely with founders, sales, product and engineering teams in an open and transparent culture.
  • Management:
    • Define quarterly marketing group objectives & key results (OKRs) in discussion with leadership. 
    • Drive your team through inspiring individual OKRs which align with the company’s objectives.
    • Develop and manage the marketing budget to ensure efficient use of resources and achieve business objectives
    • Develop and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing and product management initiatives
  • Travel to customers when required.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Product Marketing Director with 10+ years relevant semiconductor industry experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Broad knowledge of wireless IoT connectivity standards (IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi emphasis)
  • Knowledge of SOC architectures: CPUs, IOs, Busses, Memories, Crypto, Firmware, RTOS.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use numbers and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes; experience with financial modeling and statistics
  • Voracious appetite for learning about new technologies and markets
  • Start-up attitude.  Do what needs to be done
  • BS EE or CS required. MS or Technology MBA preferred
